The City - Season Finale Viewing Party

What an AMAZING night it was!

For the past 6 years, I thought I gained a few new friends.  Lauren (LC), Audrina, Lo, Whitney, and even Heidi, at times!  (Though if I was Heidi's friend, there would have been a few times where I might have accidentally slapped her)  I believed that they were a part of my life or something because I thought that I knew them so well.  There were times when I felt like I could relate to each girl, and there were also times when I shed a few tears and my heart ached for them.  If you followed these folks from the beginning (Laguna Beach days), then you probably know how I feel.

My heart sort of broke last night.  The Hills was saying goodbye forever.  This was a little bittersweet for me because though I love The Hills, it just wasn't the same without Lauren Conrad (LC).  Yes, everyone loves a little bit of drama, and Kristin Cavallari was just that... a walking stick of drama.  I liked her more in Laguna Beach and in my opinion, she wasn't able to fill Lauren's shoes.  Yes, it was great that she could speak her mind and do whatever she wants, but its a bit much when she is bullying people.  I hate the fact that she doesn't really take other people's feelings into consideration and its all about HER, her, her, and HERRRR!  Lauren, now THAT is a good friend to have.  She cares about you and if you followed the series, "The Hills", then you would see that she often cared a bit too much.  She and I are so much alike in this aspect.  How can one claim to be a "friend" when they really don't care about you?  I cannot be a friend who does not care, so I'd rather not be your friend if you don't want to care.  You know what I mean?  I can go on and on forever talking about The Hills and The City because as I said, I feel like they are a part of my life.  HAHA... a few of my friends back at home understand where I am coming from on this one. 

Anyway, I was honored when I was contacted a few weeks ago asking if I was interested in hosting a finale viewing party.  I was going to watch the show regardless, but to have a viewing party?  I've never done such thing but since I love the show and I love to host parties and get-togethers, then WHY NOT?  I was on vacation in Miami for a week and was not able to retrieve the package that was sent to me to host the party.  My Husband told me that he received it a few days earlier, but he did not open it up.  I got home the night before the finale and was VERY pleased to find the goodies that they had sent me to share with my guests at my viewing party.  The fact that I moved to this newer state not too long ago, my fellow The Hills fanatics who I have had hour long conversations about the show with were too far away to attend.  It being a last minute gathering, I decided to invite my close group of friends to the viewing party.  A few of them weren't really into the show or never even gave it a chance... THEY WERE MISSING OUT! 

Since The Hills was playing all day, I decided to invite them over way earlier than the actual premier of The Hills series finale and The City season finale just to watch the reruns and give them a glimpse of what the mini revolution was.  A couple of them have been following the show and knew what it was all about... yay!  I know that most guys would not admit that they like the show, but I know my friends and I knew that some of the guys were at first obliged to watch the show with their significant others (like my Husband), but they grew to like the show.  My Husband is probably going to kill me for telling the world this, but he also enjoys the show and almost always stays up to watch it with me on Tuesday nights.  There are nights when I fall asleep and he watches it, then summarizes the parts that I missed for me before I watch a rerun of it.  I was not going to kick him out of the house when he wants to watch the show too, so I decided to invite our group of friends who we thought would enjoy the viewing with us.  :)

We ended up having 14 people over at our small place, but with only 6 gift bags to give away with goodies (such as my newly beloved MyZeno Hot Spot), I only gave those away to the girls (and kept one for myself, of course).

Along with the hot spot, the bag was full of Whitney Port's favorite things such as Havaianas flip flops (which are THE best rubber sandals in the world), her favorite moisturizer, lip balm, mascara, chips, and even gum!  LOL!  They also provided party ware (cups, plates, napkins) for a party of six.  Of course, I had to pick up more things since my party was slightly bigger than 6, I had to pick up a few more things... which was fine by me!  Since I didn't have too much time to prepare food myself (post vacation), I decided to pick up a HUGE amount of pizza and junk food for my guests to enjoy during the show.

Perfect solution because everyone loves junk food and it was quick and easy and great to cause food coma so the next thing my guests would do is flop down on my huge sofas and enjoy the show.  Plan worked out perfectly!  :D

It being a Tuesday night and most had to work early the next  morning, they were still great sports and stuck around and waited for the premier.  We were a bit behind since we live in the west and had to wait until 10:30pm Pacific Time to wrap it up with the season finale of The City.  Needless to say, they all got really into the show and the ones that didn't watch the show before are now hooked on it and regret that they didn't follow with it before.  I have a feeling that some of them might pick up the DVDs to catch up on it. 

I made sure to block the doorway so they wouldn't ditch me! :D

As you can see in the pictures shown, most of my guests were guys.  I guess my master plan worked and converted a few The Hills/The City virgins into curious addicts now.  YESSSS!

 

MyZeno HotSpots!!

Each one of the girls' at the party brought their boyfriend/Husband and each couple went home with a Hot Spot.  We got a little excited whenever we saw Whitney on the My Zeno commercial and they cannot wait to try it.  I look forward to trying it myself and see how my guests liked theirs!  I love experiments!

I must admit that I wasn't crazy about how The Hills ended.  Oh well... I follow all of them on Twitter so I will still somewhat know whats going on with them.  Bittersweet.

 Oh man... savoring the last moments of it while we can.

The guys were a bit upset they didn't score a Zeno... so they had to drink their sorrows away.  No worries, they brought the wine and they are all of age.  I did an I.D. check! ;)

Now for The City?  Gosh... I love this show!  Not only do I love it for the fashion (duh!) but I loved watching Whitney Eve grow up and venture off to a whole new world (it seems that way).  I learned that there are bound to be a few failures here and there and we can never avoid the dreaded disappointment feeling(s) forever, but she keeps picking herself up and getting back on her feet.  Very admirable, if you ask me.  I once upon a time liked Olivia, only for her looks.  Now, seeing how much of a mean, rude, and snobby person she can be, she is my least favorite in the show.  I love Erin because she is honest with how she feels and I understand how she feels about Olivia, but I just want to tell her to give it up.  Yes, Olivia was a mean girl to her and she deserves to get slapped, but Erin should just spend less time trying to take Olivia off her pedestal and focus on her job.  i know that Olivia is affecting her work, but still... there is bound to be someone that you bump heads with at work and you just want to slap them.  But come on, Erin... you are not the bad guy here, but your constant attempts of sabotaging Olivia is making you look like a jealous little devil.  We know that you aren't so just stop.  I wasn't a fan of Roxy at first and felt like she was only using Whitney.  I also thought that she was a bad friend AND employee and would never hire her.  Later on in this season though, I can see that she was loyal to Whitney and really worked hard to support Whitney.  I was pretty upset to see that she was getting so much blame for the things that went wrong and were beyond her control.  Some of the things that were said to her were unnecessary and hurtful... and I just wanted to give Roxy a hug.  I like her... and I think that she is a pretty girl.  I know that Whitney was just under stress and took it out on someone who is closest to her, which is Roxy.  Whitney needs to be careful though because from what I see now, she is burning a few bridges with people who were there for her most.  Shocked to see Kelly somewhat yell at Whitney this episode because I thought that day would never come.  I thought that Whitney could do no wrong in Kelly's eyes.  I can see that Kelly is hurt and feels like she is being betrayed, but if she means well for Whitney, she would wish her well and continue to support her in whichever path she decides to take.  Kelly wants the best for Whitney, I believe... she was the one who got her the job at DVF in the first place.  Whitney was the one who came back to Kelly when that didn't work out and Kelly happily took her back under her wings with open arms (can someone have wings and arms?  oh well).  Kelly was probably more upset about how the situation was falsely told... that Whitney had fired Kelly.  Whitney was in no position to "fire" Kelly since Kelly wasn't exactly getting paid nor was she working for Whitney.  In fact, she was helping Whitney.  A slap in the face, I tell you.  I also believe that Whitney was a little bit out of line and should show more appreciation and gratitude to Kelly... and Roxy.

I'm so glad that The City will be returning next season.  I can't wait!  I am glad that this show is not all about drama with boys and relationships (like how The Hills turned out to be), but more about trying to make it and following your dreams and more career oriented.  I find it often inspiring and after each show, I tell myself, "I want to get a job like that".  One day, I will... I hope.

I've neglected my blog for some time. Its obvious, I know... please don't make me feel worse about it than I already do. I just got bored with it and ... okay fine... I have a confession.

I've found a new love. Her name is Twitter. I know a lot of people think that its silly and whatnot, but I am in love with it and I don't care what you say. Facebook was so 18 months ago and Twitter is getting old too, but the love I have for it is fresh and new... and addicting. I've not only neglected my blog, but I've neglected Facebook. I am a horrible friend who no longer knows what is going on with my friends. I used to be entertained by pictures and posts that my friends would make, but that doesn't spark my interest as much anymore. Wait... thats not what I mean. My friends still interest me and all, but I'm tired of seeing the same ol' pictures on everybody and their momma's pages. Maybe a part of me is jealous that I am a thousand miles away and not a part of it? *shrugs*

Why I love Twitter? I can follow anyone who makes my heart jump a little and it will be OKAY. I can tweet the most random things and lose a few followers because it rubs them the wrong way, but that is fine with me... make more room for other followers who probably follow me just in hopes that I'd follow back. Sometimes, I'd check out their profiles and if they seem interesting enough, a click of the FOLLOW button is all it takes for them to let me in on their world as I have with mine.

I get everything I need there! Some of my friends are on there (thank goodness so I wouldn't be COMPLETELY out of the loop). I get my news updates, my job postings, my OMGfacts (so random, I love)... and even some ridiculous tweets that I can't help but LOL to. I've also followed some great writers and their style intrigues me. I can spend my whole day on Twitter and not get bored. Seriously... give it a shot. Oh wait... don't give it a shot because if you do, you might be as addicted as I am.

Anyway... I'm inspired to spend more time on my blog and really express my true feelings. Its therapeutic. I also intend to show my own style and more of my personality. Many don't really care for it, but thats okay... just baffles me why they still check back up on me (but I appreciate it)!

As for my project, still under works and in need of research. I promise to share soon. As I told a few friends, I hate to count my chicks before they hatch.

Excitement!

2010 will definitely be my year! Maybe even tomorrow, I will put out what I've been working on. Oh wait... most likely not tomorrow since I'll be going to the People's Choice Awards in LA with a few of my girlfriends! Heheh.... still a little sad I turned down my "Thyda + 1" because I wouldn't ditch them like that. Maybe if I had a "Thyda +3"!?!

Let me summarize what's been going on that I might get a chance to elaborate on later...

• I won a Kodak pocket video camera from Twitter and it really came! For a minute, I thought that they were lying and I was never going to get anything... the "contest" was just a ploy to draw followers and audience. But I was wrong... so so so wrong! I GOT MY CAMERAAAAA!! AND.... it records in HD! How cool is that? Nearly $200 and its all mine for free free free all because I retweet! Whoever said that Twitter is pointless is so wrong.
  
• New Years' was great... but I gained about 10 pounds over the course of four days. Seriously. Lard status. We watched the Travis something guy jump his car. Redbull really does give you wings... and guts! I gotta admit... it was pretty cool! Countdown with some of the coolest people in SoCal and a kissy kiss from my Hubbs! Yum, yum, yum!
• I think the guys like Taboo more than we do. Its official... we have Taboo at my place and I am going to be the master at that game! Watch! If you want to see three loser boys do 45 sit ups for losing, ask me to see the video! HAHA!
• I looooooooooove my new phone. Thanks to my honey bunches of oats! Goodbye Blackberry... I once loved you so much, but the grass really was greener on the other side. On that side, there was Android!
• I have a newfound... actually... grown much more appreciation for my Family. They are my true loves. Really.
• I love exercising my brain, but not so much my body. Its obvious.
• My addiction is still lingering. I don't think it will be leaving anytime soon. Matter of fact, it might just grow even more this year. Good or bad? I don't know.
• I have so much I want to do... where does the time go?

Okay... updates later but I really hope that I can share my goods with y'alls soon!

Friday the 13th!

Yeah... today is Friday the 13th, alright. Hopefully today will be a great day... almost like yesterday.

We went to lunch with Louis and his brother. Sophy's, that is. Haven't been there in awhile, but I was torn between the salmon salad and salmon curry. Salmon salad it was! Yummmm!! The boys got their usual Thai Boats. I've never actually ordered one myself, but I have heard that its bomb diggity. Will try one day when I can steer away from the other options on the menu. I'm not a noodle/pho fan, but I'd eat it. We'll see.

Afterwards, we went to go check out the Verizon Droid. Whoopy. I don't like the bigger/bulkier one, but the cheaper one is a lot cuter and hey... I wouldn't mind having one. Hint hint. I just got my BB Tour less than three months ago, so I still need to break this one in. I shouldn't say that because breaking something is what I do best and I only meant that figuratively, not literally.

Then it was SHOPPING time! I admit, I didn't buy as much as I thought I would... which is a great thing! I've gained about 10 pounds within this past week (seriously), so I wasn't so much in a shopping mood. BLAH. Sam still thinks its ridiculous how I still have tags on most of the stuff in the closet, but its just I haven't found a perfect time/occasion to wear them yet. AND... I couldn't pass up on it. I have issues.

My in laws got some oysters and it was delish!! I don't know how they got such a great deal on such yummy oysters. Those things were HUGE and you can get food coma status type of full off only a couple. I had more than a couple though.. haha! There were so many left as we were leaving last night and they might just go to waste. Damn... I regret not eating more right now. WTF. HAHA! Soooooo good! I think I posted a picture on Twitter. LOL

Also got a chance to swing by an Asian supermarket and picked up some things. I am excited to try some new dishes!! Wish me luck! Maybe I should stay out of the kitchen on Friday the 13th though. Haha...excuses, excuses!

Then... we went and picked up some more FRIENDS DVDs!! One of my all time favorite shows. Although the show ended about 5 years ago, I still crack up from the episodes that were first aired in 1994. I was only 10 at the time and didn't enjoy them as much, but now I loooooove it!!

Overall, yesterday was a great day. Correction... a great fatty day!

So Much To Do!!!

So I'm leaving for WA tomorrow at 6am for my Family Reunion. Sam is leaving after work on Friday with my nephew, my Sister, and her boyfriend. My relatives from Ohio and Boston are already there. I'm so excited to see all of the Family again and this time, I'd have time to hang out and mingle with all of them! Yayyy! I need to start packing. Don't know what to bring, but from what I've heard, its been really cold! Yikes! Will be a pretty long stay for me (5 days), but its all good... I can't wait!

Gotta go pick up some stuff for my Mom and then pick up some freakin' Thai lakorns for my sisters. They are so obsessed, its ridiculous.

Yesterday, Sam and I attempted to go to the gym. FAIL. We also told ourselves and each other that we are not going to shop for now reason. FAIL. We will not buy useless "ka'pek ka'pok" things. FAIL. We will not waste money on eating out and will just eat and try to finish everything we have at home before we both go out of town. FAIL. We will try to eat better and healthier... ultimate FAIL! I waited all week long to watch The City and The Hills... but fell asleep right when The Hills started... so FAIL!!!!! Yesterday was just a total FAIL! FML.

From what I can remember... I've been having some weird dreams! I see a lot of old friends I have lost touch with in my dreams. Strange.

This morning, I woke up feeling gross... like I'm extra ogre status or something. I've been eating so much lately that if I didn't know any better, I would think that I'm pregnant! Yikes! I'm not ready for any babies... but Sam surely wants one. Like... he REALLY wants one. Weird guy.

Okay... lots to do and I need to get off this damn thing!

OH... and I think I'm slowly moving towards twitter over facebook. I am so tired of keeping up with all my friends' statuses that there are some that I "hid". Probably because they usually post the same things promoting their events or what not and I'm just like... I don't care. I know that sounds horrible, but I'd rather keep it more personal. Tempted to delete some "friends" who are really more of "acquaintances" than anything. We'll see.

Wait, wait, wait.... looking forward to Jenn's birthday this weekend. So excited that she and Joe are coming to visit us on my birthday too. My love of my life (Jenn)... yay!! Then... some of the girls and I are going to the People's Choice 2010 Awards in LA in January... so excited! AND... looks like we're going to Six Flags Magic Mountain in a couple of weeks. Damn, I love doin' things and just getting out in general!

Its 1am and I'm still not asleep. WHY? I really wish I knew.

So... watched The Hills earlier tonight. Oh my gosh... I still can't believe Audrina. The OTHER Woman!! I mean... I know that Brody is incredibly gorgeous and all... but damn! She was sitting there trying to justify herself and her actions... WHATEVERRR! I used to think that she was so pretty, but now when I see her, I'm just like... BLAH. Jayde still looks like a dude with a few too many cosmetic surgeries to me. I don't care if she's Playmate of the Year... whatever... she could be Playmate of the Century and I'd still think she looked like a plastic doll gone wrong. I'm such a hater... I know.

So I follow Jayde (and many others) on Twitter, and right now, she's mad at something. I wonder if its Audrina again or if she and Brody just got into a fight. 43 minutes ago, she tweeted with "Shady shady people!!". 22 minutes ago, she tweeted, "I hate stupid shady puppets!!! Just be your self... Fake people". 4 minutes ago, she tweeted, "Shitty ass puppet people!! Be real for once and not fake!!!". 2 minutes ago, she said, "Bullshit bullshit bullshit". Now 10 seconds ago, she goes, "No one is worth this"!!! Eeeeep! What/who could she be so upset about?

Its amazing how these celebrities are so consistent with their tweets. I mean... I have no life and I still can't find the time to tweet as much as they do. Holy moly! I wonder if any of them would ever notice me and my replies to them. HAHAHA!!

I have yet to do laundry and pack for my California trip this week. Hmmm... procrastination should just be my first name already rather than my middle.

I wonder what time I'm actually going to fall asleep today.

Ahhh... I can't wait to finally dance with HIM to this song. He's so amazing... only 4 more weeks and then I'm back in his arms! Its been a crazy few months and I'm surprised that I was able to handle this. I'm getting so teary eyed just thinking about him and visualizing our wedding and our entire lives together. Its such a great feeling being in love and knowing that someone loves me as much as he does. Getting married at the age of 24 seems a bit young... but I think I am just blessed really early! :P

OMG... so I think I got Thuy hooked on Twitter! (Thuy is one of my old middle school best friends! She was one of the other two Asian girls in the entire school! Thyda, Tu, Thuy... we were known as the 3T's!! HAHA! Oh... and Thuy and I were also in this other girl group called "G.W.A." that stood for "Girls With Attitude", but that deserves a blog entry of its own! Ahhh... the memories!) Anyway... so a few nights ago, she messaged me on Facebook blaming me for her not sleeping until WAYYYYY late because she was on my Twitter page and couldn't get off. The next night, same thing... she couldn't sleep because she was hooked on Twitter w/o an account. Now, she officially has a Twitter account and I'm guessing she loves that thing! I just updated 7 minutes ago, and just now, I got a message sent to my phone saying, "Thuy nudged you to update your Twitter". LOL... 7 minutes between posts too long for you? Oh my! I don't think she'll be sleeping much anymore! Wuahahhaha!

Okay... now back to my lullaby and dreaming about my handsome Husband to be! :)

Okay so maybe its not THAT big of a deal but... she has 1,002,909 followers and she's only following 188,631 tweeters. That means I've gotta be amongst the LUCKY 19%, right? Hehehe... Miso happy!! :D

Girls' Time...

I feel like I haven't seen my friends in AGES! Finally, we were able to catch some happy hour tonight (yay!!). It was nice to finally sit down and sort of catch up with each other. Great news from everybody, it seems! I can't wait for the girls to move back down south and be closer to me! You know what that means? More FUN together. Not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing... haha... but they'll definitely help me a lot with the wedding stuff. We have PLANs already! I am really crossing my fingers for Sandy and Ranny. So proud of them and oh man... I know that Ranny is gonna miss me lots... I know it! So damn proud of that girl... ahhh!

Cancun is SO not ready for us! I can NOT wait... ahhh! I'll be back and TAN just in time for my wedding. I think that I am having the hottest Bridal party that anyone will ever see. I love having hott ass friends! HAHA!

Parents going down to Long Beach for a wedding in two months and my Sister is coming up next month and wants me to go back down with her. Hmmm... we'll see!

Oh... forgot to mention... we should get our facts straight before we accidentally start spreading rumors, huh? Jenn and Mary had a little miscommunication and word was almost out that Eddy was doing drag shows at EQ! LMAO!!! They were talking about two totally different people and didn't even realize it! Hilarious! Five months ago, I woke up and stepped on a pair of WET pants on the side of the bed and was just about to tell the girls that the girlfriend of a friend's that slept next to me pissed on herself that night. Little did I know that it was my friend's pants from when she was running outside in the rain the night before. HAHAHA! Double check before we speak, shall we? Damn... I should take my own advice!

I hope I don't get addicted to Twitter. LOL!
