Pippi Longstocking is coming to your WORLD!

I was NOT in the mood for Halloween at all this year.  My friend invited me to a few parties on Friday night and I agreed to go out (because I should really put a little more effort into my social life).  Only a few hours before it was time to meet up, I still had no idea what I was going to be.  Being the cheapo that I am, I didn't want to spend any money on a costume that I would wear once when I can spend that money on something else that I can use yearlong.

I thought about the 'bad hair' Yelp Elite event that I was supposed to attend on Tuesday where I planned to stick my hair in wire to have the Pippi Longstocking look.  I then thought, "why not go as Pippi Longstocking?"  I tried to remember what she wore and image googled her.  I found this:

HECK YES I can put something together to look like that!  So... I scrounged my closet and found my outfit.

I put my hair up:

I was cracking up so bad by myself (Sam wasn't home yet)

I then ran to Rite Aid to grab a bottle of red hair spray.  It didn't show up very well, but luckily I had an orangish colored MAC pigment in my makeup kit that came in very handy (again).  Added some freckles.  I couldn't find a pet monkey so I took the clothes off of my Starbucks teddy bear and made it my monkey!  Who are people to tell me that my pet wasn't a monkey?

AND... off we go!

We went to two parties that night and I had the best time with Lily and Paline!

Ready to KNOCK OUT at the end of the night!
We definitely one up the boys this night.  The poor guys were all at home alone... and there wasn't even Poker night!  Insane, right?  So many people knew right away who I was, and some people have never heard of Pippi Longstocking!  I got mistaken for the Wendy's girl a lot!  LOL... I can see why:

Someone even called me "Happy Go Lucky".  Who and WTF is Happy Go Lucky?  I don't know but she sounds pretty cool.

I wanted to go to Wendy's and get a discount.  And if they wouldn't give me a discount, I wanted to say to them, "I OWN YOU, B*TCH!"

LOL!

The next night, the boys decided to join us at a 'Vampires Ball'.  Of course, you weren't required to dress up as a vampire, but it was preferred.  Actually, I think you get charged more if you don't dress up.  We ALMOST didn't go out because everyone felt drained and a bit lazy to dress up and actually go out.  We're getting old.  Finally, everyone was convinced to go and surprisingly, everyone was dressed up!  I went as Pippi again because I loved my hair THAT much.  Unfortunately, I was in more of a rush this time around and my hair just wasn't as cool.  Sam went in as Frankenstein.  We both didn't feel like spending money on a costume.  Actually, we did go to a costume store, but all of the costumes were whack and it was too much of a hassle to try to go through and find something through the mess.

Round TWO! LOL
Sorry guys... wish I had a shot w/ your eyes open on my camera. Oops!

We had SUCH a good time out that night.  SO glad that we all got off our butts and actually made the effort.  Very many priceless moments and a few of the peeps (no names mentioned) even got sick.  Though its not a great thing, thats when you know that someone had a REALLY great time!  I was pretty gone too, but I was just happy that my friends and I were all there having a great time.  :)

We ended the night with pho.  I remember walking into the pho place by myself (the others were taking care of the sick ones) and asked for a table for 11.  I sat down by myself and realized no one else was with me.  People were looking at me like I was crazy sitting at a big ass table by myself with my Happy Go Lucky braids sticking up.  If I were them, I would have thought I was crazy too!  LOL

The night was epic!  Too bad it took about 4 or 5 washes each night to get the stuff out of my hair, but it was worth it!

The last and final night of our Halloween weekend, we attended the Lok's annual Halloween party.  Costumes weren't required, but I wanted to get in the spirits since there were going to be so many kids there.  However, I didn't want to put my hair through that torture again.  SO... what else can I do/be without spending money?  Recycle my wings from last year, of course!  I was just going to put the wings on and call it a day, but I thought it would be pretty boring.  With about 15 minutes to spare, I decided to throw some pigments on my face.  I didn't think it through and with only a bit of time to do the damn thing, I ended up looking more like a Superhero with a bad face mask job.  Oh well... I am going to call myself the Superhero Fairy!  WHO is going to tell me that she doesn't exist?  WHO?  Haha... !

Party Pooper didn't dress up.  BOOO!
Arrived at the Lok's and I guess I scared a few of the kids.  Luckily, they buttered up to me or I buttered up to them and lured them to like me with food!  I even took one of the kids out Trick or Treating.  He is only 1 year old and was dressed as a pumpkin.  The cutest pumpkin I had ever seen!  I was in my heels and carrying the little man in my arm... trying to catch up with the other kids running around the neighborhood.  We made it around the block and got quite a bit of candy for a one year old!  People complimented on how cute my "son" is and I just said thank you and decided not to explain that he's not my kid.  I just can't believe I just met the guy and he let me take him out trick or treating!  It was so much fun!  Thanks Talvin for the fun times!  Here is a picture of him and I after he already got out of his costume.

My Pumpkin! (out of costume)
Paline's niece Lillian is so adorable!  She finally let me take a picture with her.  Beautiful Snow White... I was Snow White one year!  First grade, I think!  Ahhh... the memories!

Pretty Snow White Lillian & Superhero Fairy! LOL
My Halloween LOVES!

Thanks for such a memorable and fun Halloween, my loves!  *hugs*

Oh the festivities!!

First thing's first... thanks to whomever voted on the poll I posted last week. According to my research (LOL), it looks like Lauren has the best style of all the MTV reality series' actresses. (Yes, I called them actresses) Eh... I guess thats true... she has a mix of everything. For awhile, I thought Whitney had it best, but then she went too extreme for me to be different. Olivia always has a clean and polished look, but it could be a bit much. Audrina's grungy style is cute too, but only to an extent. Okay... Lauren it is! LOVE her!

So on Friday, somehow, I convinced 15 people to come with me to The Reef! It was so last minute, but I'm so glad they all came. Dinner and getting ready at my place first and then we headed out. My costume cost about $3 while Sam's cost $12. What can I say? We're cheap people! I was a lame ol' butterfly... Reading Rainbow's butterfly, to be exact! Sam was... the Joker... WHY SO SERIOUS? Hahaha... he was so ugly, I loved it! FUN times with good friends... what more can I ask for? Oh... the party at The Reef was fun, but it smelled so bad (with the exception of the top deck). I understand that the costumes can make you sweat, but damnnnnn!!!

(Sam got a wig, but it was gross so he didn't wear it and colored his hair instead)

Saturday morning, we decided to go over to Mikal and Paline's place for their annual Halloween party. Then... I learned that I could get Clippers' tickets for $1 each, and so I did! I know that the Clippers aren't the Lakers, but I've never been to the Staples Center and I really wanted to go. And how often would I be offered tickets for $1 each? Come on, dude! SO... we went over to the Lok's... ate some YUMMY food and hung out with their family for a bit. The food was so good and I almost changed my mind about leaving because it was THAT good. Mmmmm... wish I would have ate more, but I already gained literally 3 pounds that day. No joke! I'm still thinking about that dessert though... yummy! Took some pictures and made some cool glow in the dark glasses! HAHA... they were so cool!

Then, Lily, Durand, Sam, and I left for the Staples Center. The game was pretty intense at first... such a close game until the last half of the 4th quarter. This is exactly why I shouldn't go to sporting events because it stresses me out and I usually lose my voice from yelling out to the team and my hands hurt from clapping and cheering for them. Ugh. I don't even like either of the teams (don't care for them), but I was rooting for the Clippers because the Mavs had just beat the Lakers and it would be cool for the Clippers to beat a team that defeated the Lakers. LOL... I love pissing people (Lakers' fans) off. I'm horrible. Then... we went over to Dany's house and it was great to finally meet her after all these years. Of course, more yummy food!! No wonder I gained so much weight in one day!

Sunday... woke up for Sam's basketball game. I think their team would have won if it wasn't for the technical whatevers where the other team earned points because they didn't match in uniform. LAME. Glad Sam got to play again though... he really missed it, I can tell.

Then, we made our way to find some hearty Korean BBQ. Good meal after a game, according to Sam. I'm gonna have to agree and this will be my reason to make it to all of Sam's games... Korean BBQ after the game. HA!

Went dress hunting at the mall and my fat ass helped myself to some Gelato! LOL... wtf is wrong with me? Rented a movie on our way home... cleaned up the place (thank goodness), made dinner, then made it a movie night. Great night and was able to knock out in food coma. What a great feeling! Having an extra hour to stay in bed was wonderful... I love being lazy!

My friends Jenn and Joe are gonna come up for my birthday next month... YAY!! I'm so excited! Sam and I are heading up to WA this weekend for my family reunion and what do you know? It happens to be Jenn's bday too! What a coincidence! I'm so excited!

Okay... what to do today? Time for a new poll... yah? OKAY cool!

The Hunchback of Long Beach!

No exaggeration... I look like Quasimodo right now!

The other night, I wore my glasses and somehow hit myself in the eye and its been hurting ever since. Yesterday, there was some discharge (whitish/yellow) from my eye (left side), but that stopped for the most part... I would just get some eye booger like discharge every so often. It feels like its bruised or cut internally. I put some eye drops in to try to help with the pain, and it just burned and stung even more! This morning, I woke up looking like Quasimodo. What am I to do now?

We put together Sam's costume for Halloween last night... I'm so excited to do his face/makeup! Its rare that I buy an actual costume because I am just too cheap to spend $50 on something that I'd wear once and don't really like to begin with... so we found the perfect costume for him just by putting different things together! Some things we already had and little odds and ends here and there. Its perfect... you'll see!

I didn't find a costume for myself. Well, I did find something very decent and was cute enough to buy, but I couldn't justify waiting in an hour and a half line just to see if its available and then having to purchase it without trying it on and not being able to return it if it doesn't fit. So I said screw it! I'm being generic and wearing what I already have and just adding some accessories to it. But right now, I want to somehow be a pirate so I can wear an eye patch. Seriously... its THAT bad!

I attempted to make some sushi yesterday and was inventive and didn't have a sushi roller mat. It was not pretty, but it was good (IMHO). I even created something that I believe will be the next best thing and wouldn't be surprised if others got smart and followed my idea and included it in their menus! HAHA! I'll post a separate blog about that later.

Anny and the gang are coming down from Modesto and I've convinced Yacky to come out to The Reef with us. Apparently, everybody and their mommas are gonna be there! I wanted to do something low key, but the promoter convinced me. Why/How I talk to promoters down here too... I do not know. I'm just a people person and will talk to everyone who knows how to give me a response. I'm tired of talking to myself.

Okay... clean up time and probably put together some dishes for the night. Some are coming over. I don't know how many, but I don't care... I'll eat everything I make if I have to.

Happy Halloweezy, everybody! OH... and I'm still upset no one responded to me and tell me what they're gonna be for Halloween. How rude! Hmph!

Photo Updates?

THIS is the TShirt that I got and have already worn it to bed once! :D

Ladies... if you are not going to be in the sun and are going to be indoors or take pictures with flash, please avoid using any SPF. It reflects light and can make you look ghostly pale with the flash. See above.

We are waiting for our dinner... hoping to see some hot sweaty pirates. Okay maybe not.

My sexy dark pirate! LOL! He was such a good sport!

At Mai Tai... what a fun night it was!

We finally had our girls' night... long overdue!! I always have a nice time with them... some of the sweetest, caring, and thoughtful girls you'd ever find! :)

Oh my gosh... our highly anticipated dinner at Guppy's! I couldn't stop thinking about it all week!

If I dazed off in conversations that week, its because I was thinking of this bad boy! It was sooooo yummy! (How do they run out of mangoes???)

Spontaneous Yogurtland Venting Pow Wow last night with Sovi and Yacky! Guess which one was mine!! HAHA... the fullest one, of course!

Why is it that I miss my Husband more now when he works overtime than when I was living a thousand miles away? Ahhh... weird.

Been working on a few new things and trying to organize my life (still). I can't even keep my bedroom in order because I have too much junk and when I am doing one thing, I get distracted and think/do another. Its horrible!

My brain had been stimulated the past few days... its a great, yet painful feeling. Now, I need to exercise my body. There are too many good foods down here and too many dessert joints (Guppy's, Yogurtland) for me to not. Although I must say that I did get asked if I have lost weight. Whoa... ego boost! Utilized my handy dandy Target scale and it looks like I did. Ain't stoppin' me now. I would still like to lose 35 pounds. Is that gross? LOL!

I can't believe its Halloween again already. No way am I spending over $50 on a costume I will wear once. HELL no. Call me cheap, but do you know how many clearance items I can get with that money and for sure I'd wear it more than once? Psssh! Which totally reminds me... need to consult with Sam to see what our plans are. Actually, just sent out an email to our friends. I hope they're up for hanging out with me. HAHA!

Alright... sort of late for my date with the beach. I usually cancel on it, but not today. HAHA!
