Girlfriends

Last night, I met up with the girls after hanging out with my sister... all day. Its a great feeling knowing that I can actually hang out with a sister that I've always been so distant from. I invited her to come hang out with my friends and I since Pearl's sister was in town and it would have been nice if MY sister came with us, but she refused. In her words, "I don't hang out with my siblings' friends". LOL... she sucks! I've invited her so many times and I think she's gone hiking with us TWICE... and thats it!

Anyway... last night, I was really late to meet the girls up at Twist. Freakin' downtown and all the one ways... grrr! I could have sworn I've seen the sign for "twist" somewhere near my work and was looking for that orange sign. After about an hour of driving around downtown trying to locate it... even after getting directions from Grace, I found it! I took the risk of parking in a $12 parking lot without paying because it was already midnight and I knew I would be leaving in less than 2 hours. Nearly hit a few nice cars since it was on a slope and the spot was tight, but I didn't... HA!

Good laughs throughout the night and some catching up was done. There were quite a bit of interruptions made by strangers though. The crowd at Twist was an older crowd that seemed a bit more mature and sophisticated... so it was nice. No grimey people grinding on each other or tryin' to grab anyone's ass... so it was nice. Apparently, we were still celebrating my birthday month. LOL! Oh... and a few strangers said that I looked like the "Ring Leader" out of the whole group. I'm not sure if I should have felt offended... but then he jokingly asked if we were all in the same prison or something like that. No offense taken though... nice guy who ended up buying us drinks after inviting us to the VIP lounge... that was pretty much turned down. We'd rather sit out with the "normal" and non VIP people. Then... the cute little bartender girl got me a birthday shot... it was yummy. Then some Hong Konganese guy insisted on buying me a birthday drink as well... don't know what it really was but we guessed it was Limon Vodka and redbull. Made a bet with the dude to see if he can guess what Grace did for a living. I thought that the funniest guess was a cop... which totally made sense too! He tried to get us drinks... but it was too late and beyond last call. Oh well!

Overall, it was a fun and chill night... I really don't mind nights like that. I think I actually enjoy those scenes and those type of crowds. No more mopping the floors at clubs or grinding the girlfriends against the blue walls that stained my dresses. I'm so done with that! :p

Few pictures from Nara's camera... I'll upload mine later and I'm sure Sunny will also! :D

Oh... I got my hair cut earlier that day also. Well, it was more just a trim but I asked her to take off about 3 inches because my hair was just getting TOO long that it looked ick. My bangs... ugh... didn't like it too much and initially wanted to grow them out, but they were just too thick for my liking at the time. So, I asked her to chip on it to thin it out a bit and to point cut it... which she did, but I'm still not too happy with it. Although, I did get my hair deep conditioned and now it feels awesome! Ahhh... starting to love my hair again and trying hard to not fry it by straight ironing it with a clothes iron. But man... thats so easy/fast to do and gives the best results ever (minus the damage)... for the time being anyway! :D

Fatty!

I know that I keep saying that I need to lose weight and I always complain about how much bigger I keep getting by the minute. But my gosh... do you really blame me with all the good eats around work? AND... if you only saw all the goodies I got during the holidays and left here at work, you'd understand. Man... I can't stop munching on all the junk food and the chocolate tastes better than ever. I can't stop!

BUSY!

So I'm totally making up for all my slacking off... not even signed on GMail. Surprising, huh? :(

With You...

I really like this song...

I need you boo
I gotta see you boo
And there's hearts all over the world tonight
Said there's hearts all over the world tonight
I need you boo
I gotta see you boo
And there's hearts all over the world tonight
Said there's hearts all over the world tonight

Hey lil mama, ooh you're a stunner
Hot little figure, yes you a winner, and
I'm so glad to be yours
You're a class of your own and
Ooh little cutie, when you talk to me
I swear the whole world stops
You're my sweetheart and
I'm so glad that you're mine
You are one of a kind, and
You mean to me what I mean to you
And together baby there is nothing we won't do

'Cause if I got you
I don't need money
I don't need cars
Girl you're my heart

And oh, I'm into you and
Girl no one else would do
With every kiss and every hug
You make me fall in love
And now I know I can't be the only one
I bet there's hearts all over the world tonight
With the love of their life who feel
What I feel when I'm with you, with you, with you, with you, with you... girl
With you, with you, with you, with you, with you... Oh girl

I don't want nobody else
Without you there's noone left, and
You're like Jordans on Saturday
I gotta have you and I cannot wait now
Hey lil shorty, say you care for me
You know I care for you
You know that I will be true
You know that I won't lie
You know that I will try
Be your everything

'Cause if I got you
I don't need money
I don't need cars
Girl you're my heart

Oh, I'm into you and
Girl no one else would do
With every kiss and every hug
You make me fall in love
And now I know I can't be the only one
I bet there's hearts all over the world tonight
With the love of their life who feel
What I feel when I'm with you, with you, with you, with you, with you... ohhh
With you, with you, with you, with you, with you... Yeah

And I will never try
To deny that you are my whole life
'Cause if you ever let me go
I would die so I won't run
I don't need another woman
I just need you or nothing
'Cause if I got that
Then I'll be straight
Baby you're the best part of my day

I need you boo
I gotta see you boo
And there's hearts all over the world tonight
Said there's hearts all over the world tonight
They need their boo
They gotta see their boo
Said there's hearts all over the world tonight
Hearts all over the world tonight

And oh, I'm into you and
Girl no one else would do
With every kiss and every hug
You make me fall in love
And now I know I can't be the only one
I bet there's hearts all over the world tonight
With the love of their life who feel
What I feel when I'm with you, with you, with you, with you, with you... ohhh(girl)
With you, with you, with you, with you, with you... ohhh
With you, with you, with you, with you, with you...
With you, with you, with you, with you, with you...
Baby yeah

Working.

47. Do you wish someone would call you?
No... if I did, I'd just call them.

48. Do you miss your first love?
I don't even know who/what my first love is... but I'm guessing that my current boyfriend is my first true/real love.

50. What's something or someone you wish you could understand better?
My cousin Lynna... she's 15 years old and was born with a disability that prevents her from verbally communicating with us and doing the things that most people her age (or any age) would do. I wish I knew what was on her mind... and can talk to her. :( I love her.

51. Do you want someone you can't have?
Who can I not have? Haha... kidding! No... I already have what I want.

52. If someone doesn't like you, it's usually because?
They judge me too quickly. Its their loss. :)

53. Would you say you are date smart?
I'm smart. Period.

54. What are you excited about?
Las Vegas, Nevada next weekend!

Wonderful White Christmas

It snowed on Christmas Day... but it didn't stick to the ground, or else it would have been a really white Christmas since it came down pretty hard yesterday.

I had a wonderful Christmas this year... it was really nice and well spent with my family on the actual day and with friends a few days prior. I must say though... that I've never spent so much money on Christmas as I did this year. I shopped nonstop for about a whole week prior! Shopped with Nara... shopped by myself... shopped with my sister. Spent Friday shopping by myself so much that I am so behind on my work. Saturday, my sister and I left the house before noon and didn't get back home until 2am. We stayed at the mall until well after 1am... and grabbed a bite to eat before heading home. Sunday, same routine but left the house even earlier! I think we covered every single mall within a 100 miles radius! Seriously... even made it out to Alderwood mall in Lakewood... wtf!?!?!

On Christmas Eve... we panicked! We left the house at about 9am and ate out with the rest of our family in the morning (my treat... my siblings and parents were a bit shocked because it gets pretty expensive when it comes to our family considering the fact that its such a HUGE family! it was nice though and I felt great being able to treat my entire family all by myself every once in awhile. they kept asking me to make sure it was fine and insisted on paying many times... and my parents were concerned. i was starting to get offended... lol!). Then... we were on a rampage trying to complete our holiday shopping and were in a rut since malls closed at 7pm! Man... it was a workout trying to get through the malls and get everything in such little time (8 hours... haha!).

I got quite a bit of things for myself... oops! :D

My Secret Santas are all so thoughtful and I absolutely love all my gifts! Exchange at Jill's house was FUN but everyone felt really pooped out! I love my present and I hope my recipient liked hers too! Nack went overboard and got me something he really didn't have to... but it was so sweet of him! I felt really bad because I didn't get him anything since I was sticking to the Secret Santa rules and just getting my recipient something. Man... my friends always break the rules... every year! Hmph! I'll make it up to him though! But dude... goes to show that he knows me very well! LOL!

My nieces and nephews loved their gifts and I splurged on them like crazy. Each person in my family got more than one thing from me this year... and my nieces and nephews got at least 5 things each from me. Yeah... my bank account is pretty sad right now, but it was all worth it! Pictures to be posted soon! I'm upset that I forgot my camera battery charger at work this weekend and forgot my camera at home this morning, so now I have to wait for pictures from my sister! Man... thats gonna take forever!

Great Christmas... will post more later when I get a chance... pictures galore!

Here's ONE for now...
The girls at our gift exchange... SOMEONE didn't follow the Christmas Colors rule!
Tsk tsk... Grace & Radley!!

Holidays

What I want more than anything this holidays season is to be with the people I love.

Its obvious that HE can't be with me right now... and its killing me. *sigh*

If only they took that ugly state of Oregon off the map, at we'd cut down our distance by nearly half! Stupid... stupid.

I'm very pleased to be able to spend the holidays with my friends and family though. Maybe its just my luck... I can't always have everything I want.

I officially hate Jeff!

On a VERY busy day for me... here is our conversation--

Jeffrey:
i'm off all week so i haven't been online much
Thyda: dont rub it in... so much to do
Jeffrey: hahah
Jeffrey: yeah..i got sooo much free time i don't know what to do
Jeffrey: i can't make up my mind if i should sleep in or watch tv...damn...too many problems
Thyda: i hate you

Shopping with Nara

Today Nara and I had an impromptu shopping session. We were originally shopping for others... especially our Secret Santa's. We were doing a pretty good job, I would say... until we landed in the purses/Coach section. I don't think I've ever seen anyone want to buy something so bad before in my life... not even a house! Okay... maybe I'm exaggerating a tad, but it was cute! She had the purses (one brown, one red) on her shoulders... and started walking around with them on... one on each side. Then, she would contemplate again which one to get. Then... she was back in front of the mirror checking out how good they looked on her. The girl even TWIRLED around in them as if they were a skirt! LOL... it was so funny! And the grand finale before she made her BIG decision?
.
.
.
.
.
She ran the bag up on her body... starting from the toes! She did it slowly and seductively making sure that she didn't miss how it looked next to each inch of her body! LOL!

I think that if someone goes to those extents, they really really want that thing and they should really have it already before they sit back down and contemplate for another 8 hours! Hehehe!

But don't even get me started on the "Lancome Associate" broad!

Ladies Night

Its nice to have some of the most respectable and caring women in your life to call your closest friends. I think I've somewhat grown out of the phase where I enjoy having many "friends" to call my own and am now wanting to focus on the REAL friends whom I know would be there for me if I needed them most at the drop of a pin.

Last night Ladies' Night session was very much needed. It sucks having miscommunication with people you are closest to and sensing tensions but being afraid to ask or point it out to avoid confrontation and possibilities of further conflicts. I'm glad that my friends are understanding and more mature than people TRY to portray them to be.

I guess I'm just tired of people. Yes... I said it. It was hard for Nara to believe that I was saying that... and it was hard for me to accept what I was saying too. But no... its not that I am tired of people and considering befriending animal friends (Nara!)... but I'm just sick of people giving me shit for reasons that aren't even valid or at the least bit logical.

I've been trying to avoid my dramatic ways and am enjoying living a life with less drama than I've experienced in the past. I think that my biggest mistake(s) in life is trusting people too damn easily. Its not hard for people to be everyone's best friend... all you gotta do is be fake and try to suck up to the people in their faces at the moment while bashing the people you were just friends with only few minutes prior. Yeah... those are the people who still see this as a popularity contest and still trying to compete to see who has the most Myspace friends. Its annoying... immature... and really all bullshit.

This past weekend, I was called, "Selfish". Usually, I wouldn't take it to heart because there are many times that I am selfish... no denial there. But for this situation in particular... I don't think I was the least bit selfish. It makes me wonder if people know the exact definition of this... and it boggles me to see that people like to throw it around before even looking in the mirror. Another good one is "fake". Sheesh... talk about being self righteous and throwing yourself up on a pedestal!

All I am saying is that if people believe that others are "selfish" or "fake"... just don't associate yourselves with them. Heck... if anyone thinks I am either... or anything else they find displeasing... just leave me alone already. Trust me... I'm not bleeding and I'm breathing just fine.

Instigation is a bigger bitch than procrastination. Really... it makes me wonder if people are just THAT bored with themselves and their lives to even want to bother with other people's issues that have absolutely nothing to do with them. Maybe its just an opportunity for them to be one's best friend... who knows?

I'm speaking in general here and if anyone feels scratched or the least bit itched by this, then don't question it. It is what it is and if it strikes chords, then B-I-N-G-O! Here's a cookie to you for solving a riddle (somewhat). I don't feel like wasting my time confronting any individuals because I feel that I've invested enough of my time with them and in this blog entry. Again, if you feel that this is for written out for you or towards you, then please read it over and over again to the point where you can actually accept this and move on.

Consider this a venting session... consider this a bitching session... either is fine with me. Take it for what it is.

P.S. If you're wondering if I'm PMSing... the answer is YES. But don't blame your stupidity on my PMS either... capiche?

Christmas 2007

Deng... only a few more days until Christmas and I barely even started Christmas shopping! Time is ticking and I should really get to it, huh? But geez... I don't even want to shop in Washington anymore (hence my last post)... is that sad, or what?

December 18, 2007

Shopping

After this weekend, I vow not to shop in Washington ever again... UNLESS I really really need to. California gets an upper hand over us when it comes to shopping... so many stores and selections at unbelievable prices. No wonder those California girls always look cute! Well, some of them.

The dress that I got for only $19.99 at Charlotte Russe for the CSS party:We don't even have a Charlotte Russe up here and there's ONE... maybe TWO Forever 21's in the entire state. They're not my favorite stores or anything, but life would be easier if we had those stores along with the 905730483 other stores that they have down there and we don't! Hmph!

Back to Life... Back to Reality

I still can't believe its over. Well, I guess I can and should believe it since it really is and I am already back home and having trouble facing reality. In the past, I've always said that my weekend getaways are short. Sadly, it gets shorter every time. And this time, it was the shortest of all weekend getaways I've ever had. It was everything that I wanted it to be... if not more.

I admit that I didn't get to see or hang out with the people I usually do when I'm in California, but I just hope that they can be understanding of my situation and my schedule. A 3 days stay is not a lot of time to work with, especially when there's so many activities and options to choose from. I realize that most of my visits don't go as planned and not once have I ever sticked to my original itinerary. I've decided that from now on, I will make no plans and go with the flow... which is pretty much what I did this past weekend except the fact that I somewhat had a plan. Next time, none.

The CSS Party was a lot of fun and I had a great time just dancing the night away with many photo opportunities and giggle or laugh my butt off sessions in between. I'll post some pictures up when I get the chance, but there are just too many (some of the same people and poses) that its hard for me to choose the best ones to post right now. Maybe later.

Initially, Disneyland was in the picture but as expected, we didn't stick to this because of the time restraint and much left that needed to be done. I got a chance to hang out with Sam's family... which was always a pleasure since the opportunity is obviously scarce due to the distance. His mom is a sweet, caring, and humble woman whom I have grown closer with these last few days. I can only imagine what it would be like to be the only woman in the house with a husband and three grown sons. She definitely wants a daughter... and is now waiting for a daughter to marry into the family. This topic and suggestion came up many times during the conversations that we had, and it was hard for me to take and respond seriously since its such a serious and emotional (to me) topic. Sam's aunt came over the first morning I was there with goodies for me and greeted me with a hug telling me how much she missed me since the last time we saw each other in April. Its so surreal to be accepted and welcomed into the family of the one you love... such a great feeling. I felt very guilty for visiting and not having anything for the family... not even a little token of me or my Washington residency. :( Note to self: Next time, show a little bit more appreciation and a gift basket couldn't hurt.

On Saturday, Sam's mom woke us up to some yummy "katiev" that had everything! Mmmmm... it was definitely yummy and now I understood why he always bragged about his home cooked meals... lucky butt! He brought me to South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa on Saturday. I couldn't believe some of the stores I saw and was intimidated by the many shoppers with many bags from the stores that I can only dream of affording a toothpick from. My gosh, shopping is serious business over there and Valet Parking at the freakin' mall is typical. Nevertheless, it was a neat experience and I've officially made it my goal that one day I can become a frequent visitor and shopper (not window) at that mall. Sam and I managed to score a few deals there... even if the SALES were nothing special or extravagant to the other shoppers. Oh well, more for me! I told myself that I wasn't going to spend too much money this weekend since I'm pretty much broke, but I just couldn't help it. Actually, I didn't get too much for myself... Sam did more shopping than I did... as usual! There is one thing he got that I am very much in love with... it was a microfiber down comforter from Brookstone. I can't explain it, but you'd have to feel it to believe that its the best comforter out there that doesn't shed feathers and is machine washable. Feeling it is one thing, but actually sleeping in it skin to fabric is another thing that I just can't describe without too many oooh's and aaah's. We spent the whole day there... and took a short break at The Boiling Crab for crawfish with Durand, Lily, and Samorn. My first time at the very much talked about place and I loved it to a certain extent. Maybe I'm just a lazy person, but thats a whole lot of work you have to do for such a small piece of meat. I found myself enjoying the shrimps and corn more... it was less work. :) After the Boiling Crab break, we were back at South Coast until about 11pm when it was closing. Yeah, it sounds pretty crazy and quite embarrassing how long we can stay at the mall for... but at least we didn't walk out of there empty handed. We didn't get back home until about midnight and surprisingly, the other guys were over there playing poker. Man... poker is serious business to them and once poker's in the picture, I'm out the window! That night, I was able to upload pictures from the party and have a chit chat session with Sivhui. When we thought that the night was over around 4am, they decided to hold a Ping Pong tournament until nearly 6am. When Sam told me that he was buying a pool table and ping pong table for the house, I thought he was kidding and lost his mind. Little did I know that they can all be so easily entertained. Oh well... I guess I'd rather have him entertained by sports and those boyish games than by strippers or casinos.

I was spoiled by Sam's mom... she knew what I liked and managed to make it for me. Sunday's lunch was delicious to me, and her sons always tease her saying that its not tasty... but its obvious that they enjoyed it when each one of the sons need about two refills each per meal. I think its cute how they all can joke around with their mom like that. The brakes on his car went out and he had to get that fixed before we did anything that day... even with as much as we had to do before the Gift Exchange. Even with all the shopping we did, Sam still couldn't find anything for the person he drew. Finally, he did... but we were running late to the actual exchange ourselves. Not to mention, it was a potluck and we had to pick up some food on the way. He told his mom even before I got there on Thursday that I have never had her special, "Spicy Spaghetti"... so she made it for us that evening. I was the last one who ate since I was still busy wrapping up the gifts, but she managed to make and save me a plate until when I am ready to eat. Geeesh... told you I was spoiled! Anyways, it was the best type of spaghetti just like Sam had bragged about it before.

A Secret Santa gift exchange was organized for the other Cali couples and I... and it was great fun! Ever since we drew names, I bugged each and everyone of them trying to sucker them into telling me who they drew. Sadly, no one trusted me and my big fat mouth! Guess who drew MY name!! SAMORN! Yep... Sam's younger brother. What's funny is that the entire weekend when I was with them, I was bashing my Santa because he didn't ask me questions and was inactive... and was under the impression that Samorn drew Durand! I felt really stupid when I found out it was him... and he probably hates me! Well, actually... I don't think he does! The limit was $30, and he totally went overboard and spent well over $100, I'm sure. For the first time in about 5 years that I've had a thick, soft, and warm robe on my wishlist, this is the first time I actually got one! It was NICE and Sam tried to jack it from me... you can probably orgasm just by feeling it because it is THAT soft! I saw the price for this... and it was the limit times two and a half!! And on top of that... I think an investigator told him that I didn't have any Croc's shoes but had wanted some... and so he threw in a pair of the Mammoth Crocs that have a soft and warm lining in the inside. I guess he knew that Washington is THAT cold and wanted to keep me warm! I was told that he didn't spend that much on his "sister"... and that was very touching! Now, I have to figure out a way to top him! :)

Much more to say... but I'd have to continue later since I have MUCH catching up to do. Days off at work are great at the moment, but are true ass biters!

Hate that I Love You...

I'm really liking this song right now...

That’s how much I love you
That’s how much I need you
And I can’t stand ya
Must everything you do make me wanna smile
Can I not like it for awhile
No.. but you won’t let me
You upset me girl, then you kiss my lips
All of a sudden I forget that I was upset
Can’t remember what you did

Well I hate it
You know exactly what to do
So that I can’t stay mad at you
For too long, that’s wrong
Girl, I hate it
You know exactly how to touch
So that I don’t wanna fuss and fight no more
So I despise that I adore
And I hate how much I love you boy
I can’t stand how much I need you
And I hate how much I love you boy
But I just can’t let you go
And I hate that I love you so..

And you completely know the power that you have
The only one that makes me laugh
[ Hate That I Love You lyrics found on http://www.completealbumlyrics.com ]
Sad and it’s not fair how you take advantage of the fact that I
Love you beyond the reason why
And it just ain’t right

And I hate how much I love you girl
I can’t stand how much I need you
And I hate how much I love you girl
But I just can’t let you go
And I hate that I love you so

One of these days maybe your magic won’t affect me
And your kiss won’t make me weak
But no one in this world knows me the way you know me
So you’ll probably always have a spell on me

That’s how much I love you
How much I need you
That’s how much I need you
That’s how much I love you
That’s how much I need you

And I hate that I love you so--
And I hate how much I love you boy
I can’t stand how much I need you
And I hate how much I love you boy
But I just can’t let you go
And I hate that I love you so
And I hate that I love you so.. so..

I'm 23!!

Only another year until my next birthday... but I have this feeling that it can't top any of the birthdays that I've had during the past few years. This year, I didn't plan on doing much celebrating due to my crazy schedule and signs of old age, but it turned out 100 times better than I had ever imagined it to be. My friends are truly amazing... and I am blessed to have such thoughtful and caring people in my life. More details and pictures later... but right now, I must get back to reality and get some work done! :D

Again, thank you thank you thank you to everyone who made my birthday so memorable. Yes, and this includes the many text messages and phone calls that I received. Love you guys!

Recovery

I can't believe I almost didn't want to do anything last night. Man... it was a tad bit... crazy!

Details? Uhmmm... I doubt anyone would want that. Lets just say that my friends took GREAT care of me! :)

.....

Okay... since a few folks paged me and insisted that I get into details and I have a little bit of time, I will! Actually, let me see if I can cut and paste from prior conversations when I was trying to tell the story... LOL!

So last night, Arnold and Rolo picked me up from work. Took awhile to get to Del Rey's. Actually... took awhile to find parking. Chanh was already there and we were waiting for everyone else to show up. Remember, I did not have a bite to eat ALL day, so I was pretty hungry! We ordered at least 12 dishes of food... knowing that there aren't gonna be that many people there since it was such a late and last minute's notice. Before we got out food though, Arnold bought a round of shots. Stupid Thyda....

OKAY TO BE CONTINUED BECAUSE I GOTTA GO NOW... LOL! STAY POSTED... IF YOU WANT!

Let me go ahead and cut and paste what I had told Jeff on GMail earlier today though about my morning:

i woke up this morning panicking because i was in grace's guest bed...
and had no idea what had happened
3:47 PM then it took awhile to realize that i went out the night prior
then panicked more because i didn't know where the hell my car was
looked out the window and saw my car there... but didn't know how it got there
then i didn't know where my car keys were...
3:48 PM looked at my phone and got a text message from rolo telling me where he put my car keys and my access key card
it was 5am....
so i talked to grace for a bit and drove home to federal way!!!
didn't have water in my car... and i was about to throw up!
it eased a bit once i got home... and it was almost 6am...
3:49 PM set my alarm clock to wake me up at 6:30... hopped into bed...
the room spun and then my guts wanted to say hello to the toilet
i said goodbye to the porcelain shrine by 6:20...
hopped back into bed... and my alarm went off shortly after
3:50 PM snoozed a total of 7 times (7 minutes each time)... so a total of 49 minutes later....
i still got no sleep since i kept having to wake up... my smart ass put my alarm clock on the other side of my room so i have to actually get up to hit snooze every time
finally hopped in the shower at about... 7:20ish...
felt woozy as the water hit my body... so i sat down in the shower... haha!
3:51 PM fell asleep until the water was cold
then... woke up and finished showering... hopped out at about 8am! LOL
and what do you know? i have to be at work at 8am... but its fine since i have a 2 hour leeway every day...
3:52 PM drove to work and got here at about 9ish... no makeup... hair wet and tied back... with a sweatshirt on... hehe!
so that concludes my aftermath

My email to the party animals who came out last night:

Let me just tell you guys something...

You guys are the best!!

Thank you so much for everything last night! I honestly don't even know what the heck happened, but I do remember being called Britney and cheesing like crazy! It was a great kick off for my birthday... and I believe that I am DONE celebrating for the month... haha! Well... maybe not completely done, but I are scared. LOL!

Don't spread rumors saying that I threw up on the table because I don't remember it, I don't believe it, and I would never... so stop making things up! :P

Seriously though, I don't know where I'd be without you guys. I'd probably still be at Del Ray hitting on that waitress with the cute short hair. Really though, I think I wanna go back and say HI to her... next year or something.

Email from Cindy:

That’s classic. And hun, it’s not gonna spread as a rumor that you threw up on the table, in the doorway of the bathroom then finally made it in the toilet lol because it’s all true. And let’s not forget you throwing up in front of the car, with Chris and Arnold holding you up while the po po was walking to his car giving us bad looks.

Oh and the server…… the one with the short hair? She was cute wasn’t she? Hahahahaa. She looks like your type lmao.

The Blues?

Its been crazy for me at work... to the point where I almost just wanna sit here and cry. I guess I'm sort of overwhelmed by it all, but I'm somewhat enjoying the crunch. I don't know if that makes sense, but it sure does to me.

Monday morning started off with an email from my boss... asking me when I'd like to have my in office birthday celebration... the Friday before or the Monday after since it falls on a Sunday this year. I figured, Friday would be best since everything's cooled down at work by then. So that's that. I didn't really feel like celebrating because I know that its been busy around here and honestly, I just have a lot on my plate right now... especially knowing that I'd be gone for nearly two days next week. (I know thats not a lot of time, but I guess I'm just nervous taking time off for the first time at a new job, yanno?) But hey... its always fun to just hang out with the coworkers for an hour or two during work hours.

Then, Nara emailed me asking me about my birthday plans. Honestly, again, I had nothing planned and really didn't intend to. I don't even feel like its anywhere near my birthday. And with the last few years being crazy partied out celebrations, I didn't know if I really needed to celebrate this time around. Besides, I know how stressful it is for almost everyone financial wise around this time of year... for me also. I think we've all been having crazy workloads lately, so she wanted to do something at her new condo this weekend... and I'm all up for something really low key. Therefore, this weekend's get together was perfect to me... and Nara's so sweet to do this for me. :)

Grace insisted that we do something tonight, so we are. Totally spontaneous and this morning, we didn't even know where we were going. In her words, we're going to "kick off" my birthday month tonight. Damn... a month is a long ass time to be celebrating... I think I'd die before Christmas! So yeah... Del Ray it is tonight... so sweet of her to coordinate and also nice of the people who are going to be here for me on such a last minute's notice. I'm telling you... I have the greatest friends ever! I can't wait to see them tonight... even when I look like crap with a huge red dot on my nose from picking and poking at a pore every night just because for the past two weeks or something like that. Ugh! Oh well... I guess Rudolph has some competition this year, doesn't he?

Despite the crazies at work, the ladies in the office are insisting that we all go out on Friday night after work. Will start it off at a bar nearby and paint the town red... or maybe turn it down a notch and just pink. I'm glad my coworkers and my friends can get along. Well, I'm sure they can this Friday... but boy... I'm kind of nervous at the thought of all these festivities. What's funny is that we had a semi conference call between some of the ladies to discuss the plans. Haha... I'm lucky to have such a fun and sweet bunch to call my coworkers... makes coming to work every morning much more pleasing and enjoyable.

Okay... I think they're almost here to pick me up to kick off my birthday month (haha)... wish me luck! :)

Let it Snow? Nah... lets not.

This past weekend, I did absolutely nothing and I really don't think I even stepped out of the house. But what else is new nowadays? Well actually, Friday night was relaxing and quite interesting. Turkey pho was served at Grace's house... accompanied by some good ol' wine. I told myself to save my appetite for the day and just indulge that evening... but I couldn't help myself. At about 3pm, I found myself burying my face in some spicy chicken teriyaki. Boy, was it good! :) I did have some turkey pho anyway, and it was pretty good. At first, I thought it was a "different" combination, but it turned out well... considering the fact that it was made by the Iron Chef himself. :)

Was supposed to go crabbing with the crew on Saturday, but what do you know? It snowed... on the first day of December! That obviously got cancelled... and so did the bachelorette party that I was somewhat looking forward to. I am NOT going to drive my poor little car in that kind of weather. Heck, I already hate driving in the rain... you'd gotta be kidding if you really think I'd want to drive in the snow.

So there you have it... I spent my entire weekend roasting my butt next to the fireplace all weekend long with the family. It was pretty nice since everyone came over. I guess my brother and cousins went fishing and brought over 4 HUGE salmons. Geez... I really think that I'll be having salmon for dinner for the entire month of December! Haha!

Gifts Galore!

My gosh... I think I'm going to be doing the most damage this year than I've ever done in the past. Lets see... there is a new kid in the family every year, prices keep going up and not down, and I'm participating in hella Secret Santa gift exchanges and all of them being around the $30 price range. Thats a lot of money when you multiply it by the number of exchanges I'm participating in. Lets see...

1. KC's Secret Santa
2. The Girls' Annual Secret Santa
3. Workplace (White Elephant Gift Exchange... same thing kinda!)
4. Cali Homies' Secret Santa
5. 3C's Secret Santa

HOLY CRAP! Not to mention the obvious people that I intend on giving gifts to already. Damn!

I know I know... 'tis the season for giving and being jolly. I KNOW!!! So we shall give and be jolly. Lets just try to forget that the season right after this one is the season to starve at our desks trying to decide which flavor Cup O' Noodles we should have that day, the next day, and the day after that.

November 29, 2007

Finally!

Okay... finally got my camera back! So y'alls should just prepare yourselves for the camera/picture whore that I am to come back to life! Hehe... so excited! :D

Dresses!

Man... I've been infatuated with dresses lately. I need to find some nice ones though... especially with all the Christmas parties around the corner. I'm telling myself that one day when I have the body, I will wear one of these dresses! :D

... Quite a bit more that I like, but I can't seem to steal it off the websites' flash thingy mah jig and I really don't feel like tryin' to figure that out right now. Yeah... so what if my taste is kind of bland... I like them! :D

BUSY

Man... been busy all this week and barely had time to update my blog (obviously).

It was hard to wake up and get back to the usual routine on Monday. My sleeping habit during the four day weekend was ALL jacked up and catching a cold sure didn't help. Talk about major work overload on Monday though... ugh... the downfall of having a nice, long, relaxing weekend... you come back to a stack of work that needs to get caught up or done. Bleh!

One of the girls in our office, her family owns a winery. Her dad was sweet enough to drop off some bottles of wine at the office that day along with some turkey soup that I missed out on. Most everyone who was in the office that day stayed and hung out after work over some good ol' crackers, cheese, and wine! I'm not much of a wine drinker, but Grace is! She came by earlier than our scheduled dinner/happy hour date and got to meet most of my coworkers. I think my friends would get along great with my coworkers... some of the sweetest people I could ever imagine working with! :D After a few, Nara, Sunaro, and Pearl joined us at Noc Noc... a bar just around the corner from my office. The Happy Hour there is great! Check this out... we got one whole bottle of wine, my rum and pineapple juice, and 7 appetizers for only $25! What a freakin' deal, right? And the servings were pretty big that Grace got to take some of it home with her that night... hehe! And another great thing, its right by work so whoever joins in can just park in my parking garage... thats if other cars have already left and there's parking available. My head was pounding though... and the loud music (that wasn't there the last time I was there with Nack, Grace, and Chanh) was not helping. I guess there was music and dancing (like a club) on Tuesday nights. A few of my coworkers ended up there too... and they told me the next day that they actually stayed to dance! Hehe... so funny! By the time I got home that night, I was literally crawling into bed!

Oh... I found out that I have Monday, December 31st and Tuesday, January 1st off. Freakin' A... and I am going to Vegas the weekend AFTER. Stupid! Should have better planned things. Now, if I am getting a fat bonus like I'd like to, I'm definitely going somewhere for New Years! A four day weekend doesn't happen very often, so you'd bet I'm going to take advantage of it! :D

November 27, 2007

Overwhelmed

I'm a bit overwhelmed with tons of work right now, but I still love the challenge of it all. If you don't see me online too often or if I'm not responding to you as soon as I usually would, then you'll know why.

Sam, Durand, Lily, and I are planning to go to Maui this June. Durand emailed me saying, "Would you rather NOT go to Hawaii or smell Sam's armpit for a week?" LOL... lucky for me, I like the way his armpit smells... :D It looks like Leena and Morn are probably going as well, so it would be cool. I haven't been back to Hawaii since... September of 2002! And when I was there then, I didn't have much play time since I was there for a youth leadership summit. This time, all play, baby!

I really need to get serious about saving up since I'm going to Cali in 2 weeks and 2 days... so excited! Then I'll be in Vegas in January... the weekend after New Years (yeah... I wish I could have been there for New Years again... but I can't. Boo!). Was hoping to go on the unofficial annual 3C's Snowboarding trip in March. This year, they're thinking of hitting Aspen, and boy have I heard great things. From the looks of it though, I don't know if this would be possible... but wish my luck anyways! Sam and I would like to take a trip together this summer as well... besides the Maui trip. Hopefully we can work something out for his birthday. Man oh man... I should really consider getting a part time job to pay for all these trips, but I don't know how long I would last since there's already not enough time for one full time job. LOL! Maybe I should just cut back on the shopping and unnecessary purchases... the "ka-pek ka-pok" stuff.

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what I should get Sam for Christmas. What in the world do you get a man who has everything anyway? If he doesn't tell me what he wants, he just might have to suffer with a blown up picture of me... framed! HAHAHA... what torture!

Thanksgiving BRIEF Recap!

(because I don't have time to write up a new entry YET... this is a cut and paste from a KC post that I made)

It was my first time attempting to deep fry a turkey, and it turned out great! My family vowed to never bake a turkey again! I'll post pictures tomorrow... I had a cold all weekend and didn't do crap. :(

Anyway... it was awesome and I was voluntold to be the turkey fryer each year. I only got a small piece of the juicy turkey, but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. Every other year, there was always a bunch of left over turkey for sandwiches and stuff... but NONE this year. It was nothing but bones within an hour!

Yes, I'm proud!

Oh... and I bought the kit from Wal-Mart for $70 (has everything you'll need and you can use it for other things down the road. I'm thinking crawfish... soon!). Thing is... my mom gave me $50 because she really liked the set and my dad threw in another $50... even after I told him that mom already paid for it. And what do you know? My aunt gave me $50 thinking I spent a lot of money on the food... and my brother gave me $40. LOL... came up on Thanksgiving!

And we also had... sweet mashed potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes and gravy, two pumpkin pies that I didn't have enough room in my tummy for, sausage/apple/walnut stuffing that I made (stole recipe from internet... it was bomb!), corn, green beans casserole (sis made it... not me), and BBQ ribs (I'm beating myself up for not having any).

Not to mention... yao hon! Dude... it was crazy... but I didn't eat the yao hon until the next day... LOL!

Does turkey make you sleepy? Because I fell asleep like a baby that evening... stuffed.

Skinny Jeans

So I've been really skeptical about "skinny jeans" on me because I felt that it wouldn't look right on a big girl like myself. Well, last week when I did retail therapy at Nordstrom, I tried on a pair and thought, "this doesn't look so hideous". Surprise, surprise... I did the damage! Today, I'm wearing them for the first time and I must say, I really like them! Now if only my thighs don't bulge out so much... LOL!

Great!

So work is going just great. I was given a few more responsibilities than I had anticipated... in which they are vital to our company. Under the circumstances they were given, I was under a lot of pressure, but I loved every bit of it. I think I just enjoy the adrenaline rush and I admit, I love feeling like an important factor to my office. :) Needless to say, I got this project squared away and under control. *pats self on back*

I'm building great relationships with my coworkers, and its a great feeling to be welcomed in such a friendly, yet professional manner when need to be. Some of the ladies are really cool and I really look up to them. Successful women who are enjoying life at the same time... I want to be one of them when I grow up!

Last night after work, we hung out at a joint nearby and the topic of traveling to China came up. The two ladies that I was with go to China four times a year... for nearly a month at a time. I jokingly said that I would love to go with them one day... and now they are insisting that I should just go to get a better understanding of our company and the industry itself. Even though this was all just talk, I really am excited and would love to go one of these days! I mean... who wouldn't? Anyway... I'm determined to make it up to that status where I can travel on business... SOON. :)

I'm excited for Thanksgiving this year (and no... not just for the food either!). What sucks is that its so hard to get all the family together for the holidays because we're all so far apart or our schedules just clash. Nevertheless, we always seem to have great holidays with the family. I love having a big family sometimes... there's definitely a lot of unspoken love that you can just feel in the room. What a great feeling... a great time of year!

Have a great Thanksgiving, everyone!

My heart's in California...

See those people? I miss them. :(

Especially the handsome stud in the red.

23 more days... and I am SO there...! I can't wait! :)

Weekend...

If only all weekends were like this past one, I'd be drained out of my mind!

Friday was my coworker's birthday. She initially didn't want to do anything for this day because she felt that hitting the big 4-0 was nothing to celebrate... even when she looks nothing like a day past 25 and probably the youngest looking in the office... no kidding! Change of plans though... we decided to go out for drinks after work anyhow at a club/bar around the corner called, "Noc Noc". I walk past this joint every single day, and it was my first time actually going in. A pretty neat spot thats great for happy hours and a quick drink. The bartender could have sped it up a little and did something about his overly greased hair, but thats just my opinion. Anyway... it was cool to hang out with a few of my coworkers that night. They had invited me to go out with them bar/club hopping, but I declined since I didn't drive into work that day, or else I would have SO been there! After two "Sweet Action" (SO GOOD... probably my new favorite drink) and two "Chocolate Cakes" with the birthday girl and company, I was set for the night. Before leaving though, we decided to do the same for MY birthday... and they teased me for being such a youngin' that they can't keep up. Little do they know that I'm probably the first one to go out of all of them, despite the age difference. I feel like such a party pooper and homebody lately... but I don't mind.

On Saturday, it was Girls' Day Out. I never got a chance to really hang out with my sister in law without my brother for about 6 years that they've been married. She had never explored downtown and wanted some shoes, so I killed two birds with one stone. We went shoe shopping... hehe... and she went a little crazy. Natalie and Rachany tagged along... and Rachany even got a chance to draw me a picture to keep in my office. I think she liked the Mr. Sketch scented markers a little bit too much though. Anyway... we explored Westlake Mall, where we also ate and got each an umbrella since it was halfway pouring outside that afternoon. Rachany's pink umbrella was taller than her, but she insisted on being a big girl and carrying it herself anyway... it was quite a sight. I got a little crazy at Nordstrom and managed to score myself a free gift from Express for spending more than $25 that day... which is so easy to do, I can do it with my eyes closed! We also made our way down to Tiffany's... where the salesperson insisted I try on the necklaces that go with my toggle bracelet that Sam got me for our anniversary (thanks Babe!). The necklace was HUGE, and I honestly don't think that I would get much wear out of it. Thank goodness Sam didn't get that for me since he originally wanted to get that rather than the bracelet. I love my bracelet... its simple and just perfect. Besides, I already love the Journey diamond necklace he got me almost a year ago for my birthday. Yes, I'm pretty spoiled by him... oops!

We managed to stop by Sephora on the way back... and Rachany looked like she was in heaven! She picked out a hot pink lipstick that Natalie put on for her. Throughout the store, people were just pointing out how adorable she was with her lipstick and fluffy white jacket. That girl's a Thyda in the making... and her head is almost as large. Hey... at least she was polite enough to say thank you to each and everyone of them who fed her young little ego! By the time we left downtown, she was already too tired to walk and fell asleep instantly when we got back in the car. We stopped by Southcenter on the way back and I said, "Rachany, you wanna go to another Sephora... the place where they have lots of 'aw-aw' (what she calls makeup and jewelry... originating from the Khmer word, 'la-aw')?" The 3 year old got up real quick with her eyes half shut, but nodding rapidly! LOL... that girl is such a tomboy... but a girly girl at heart... I can't explain it! Anyways... I did more damage... but they were all on necessities. Needless to say, it was a tiring day full of shopping and walking... I was pooped.

Sunday, I had to pick something up in the International District for my sister. I decided it should be a fun day with the kids and I... so I took Natalie, Justin, and Kenneth with me for the ride. Afterwards, since we were already in the area, we had Teriyaki downtown... that was so so. I knew how much the kids were fascinated with trains, so I brought them on the next best thing... the monorail! We rode to Seattle Center, where it was just too cold to really enjoy the rides outdoors. We stayed in the indoors arcade there, played some games, Kenneth beat Natalie in a game of Air Hockey (he's 7... she's 13... lol), wanted to ride the Bumper Cars but the two munchkins weren't tall enough. We decided that from that day on, they'd eat more so they can grow big, strong... and tall enough for bumper cars! After awhile, we headed back to our car and headed back down south.

I noticed that Justin's hair was getting really long, so I knew he was in need of a haircut. He liked his long hair though because he had been asking me to put it in a little mohawk for him everytime we went out. He's adorable with it, but even so, it was just too long. We stopped at SuperMall on the way back and were hunting for a good place to cut his hair. There was a place that was asking for $20 for a kids' haircut. Geez louise... thats the cost of an adult's haircut and tips at some places! LOL! We found the perfect one shortly after, though. While we waited, we flipped through the magazines and Justin couldn't seem to find a haircut that he liked. Finally, I asked him, "do you want to cut your hair like Pu Sam?" He said that he didn't remember what it looked like, so I took a picture of him from my wallet and showed him. He smiled and nodded his head. Then, the lady came to ask us how we wanted his hair cut, and there I was whipping out my boyfriend's picture to show her! LOL! She said, "that's a big boy's haircut... you're a little boy!" I told her, "he wants to look like a MAN... please make him a MAN and cut it like that". So she did! Justin was nervous, yet smiling throughout. When she was done, Justin was definitely a man (who has a hard time buttoning his jeans, but thats another story!).

Isn't he handsome? (She wasn't done in this picture... obviously)

He was so proud of his haircut, that he decided he would go back to that same lady! Got home and I told my mom the story about me pulling out Sam's picture to show the hair stylist, and she laughed. My dad loved the haircut and said the lady did a great job!

I made some spaghetti with mushroom and meat sauce, but was still too full to eat. I made the kids eat though... even if they were still full, I reminded them that they want to be tall enough for bumper cars next time!

Later, we went to Barnes and Nobles where the kids read some books to me over hot chocolate. Then, it was time to come home and rest up for the short week ahead of all of us. But boy, was it a fun weekend!

:)

Stamps!

I ordered new stamps since I'm out and I received them today. SO cute!

Man... I used to think that people who collected stamps are retarded because I used to see the typical rose or flag on stamps. But man... there are some pretty nifty ones out there! I think I'm going to send something to Boyfriend just because I want to use my stamps! :D

27 more days until I see the old guy... miss him too much!

(Okay... you can barf now!)

The Texan Couple

So I finally got to meet my Bong Jenjira and Bong Clay. What's funny is that Bong J was probably the first Bong Bong I have chatted with out of the 3C's... but I met her after I met Bong K, Bong Aprimm, and Bong Nieng! They were actually here for Bong J's auntie's funeral... but found the time to grace me with their presence!

All I gotta say is that these two are probably one of the cutest couples that I've ever seen! They've been together for so long, but you can just tell that the flames are still there! I wish we could have spent more time together, but I understand that it was a difficult and busy time for them. On top of that, my sister came to visit since she wouldn't be able to visit for Thanksgiving, or Christmas (which is her birthday).

Lets see... on Saturday, I switched cars with my sister because I knew that my little bucket was just too small to host. Dude... I didn't realize this, but my sister is even more messy than me. I thought my car was messy... should have seen hers! Anyway, I was still grateful that she agreed to switch. I picked up the Bong Bong's at Bong J's aunt's house in Eastside Tacoma. Its weird... I haven't been to that area in so long that I almost forgot the way! I felt really bad because it seemed like I was rushing them to finish eating to come play with me. I just hope that they didn't choke on anything. :p They look just like their pictures... well honestly, Bong J was prettier in person and I'm not just saying that to try to win some home cooked meals from her since I'm going to get those anyway... hehe... but I'm sure the others would agree with me! We then went to go pick Korbs up in Central Tacoma (is there such thing? hehe... I just made it up!)... and headed up to Seattle. I was somewhat quiet on the way up there, and I don't know why. Maybe because I was intimidated by the Texans... hehe... they're just too cute and was afraid that I'd annoy them or they'd kick me out of the car! Oh well... I made it there safely... inside the car!

We met up with Nack... walked down to the FIRST Starbucks where my hands got to play too! ;)

And then checked out Pike's Place Market. I'm not sure if they really liked the whole vibe, but I bring visitors there all the time! Its just a place that I think is pretty neat and Seattle is known for it. They were hoping to see fishes thrown, but for some reason, only the small corny fishes were thrown. Probably because the people who bought them are cheapskates and didn't want to buy the big ones? Hehe... I shouldn't speak though, I didn't buy anything myself! With two chefs with us though, it was like heaven to them... and me too... dreaming of what I could eat after they cook it!

I suggested that Bong Clay buy flowers for Bong J... and he was trying to, but I kept telling him that there are better ones at the other side. Just my luck... they didn't sell them that day at the other side. Sorry Bong J... its my fault you didn't get flowers! LOL

And we HAD to represent, of course!

After that, we went to Sephora's where I convinced Bong J to play makeup with the lady who works there. She was such a great sport about it too!

Check out the makeup artist's hair... so cute!

Bong J looked ever more fresh and beautiful than when she first got in there. LOL... Nack was somewhat annoyed because I ALWAYS insist we go play in there whenever he's in downtown with me for what ever reason!

I owed Bong Clay a cup of coffee since I told him it was going to rain, and it didn't. They literally brought the sunshine with them and took it back with them when they left. The least they can do was leave it with us! Nack and Korbs didn't eat before we played, so they went to go find something to eat... and we hunted them down! The chef's got together for a "KC's Iron Chef's Photo"

I begged for her autograph... or was it recipe?

Then we walked down to Pacific Place... but Bong J got a good handful on the way!

Then we went to Kerry Park... a beautiful, scenic park where no one who visits Seattle should miss. The couple had their own little photoshoot... *barf* HAHAH jk!

We then dropped Nack off, and back down to Tacoma we went. Great conversations on the way back though, and I felt like I got to know them even more... including Korbs! Great people... and I wish I could have hung out longer, but my sister called me the instant I dropped them off! My gosh... she was on my ass about her car just because I got a rock chip on the windshield... which was NOT my fault! Hmph!

So there you have it... my day with the Texans! Now, I really do want to visit Texas. Can you believe that they have trees down there? I could have sworn that it was deserted and looked like what it did in the Western movies, but they told me I was wrong! Man... I get attached to people too easily... and now I wanna follow them home! :(
