Peace Outtie!

My company is going on a quick trip this weekend... to Las Vegas!  I have no idea what the two hour training is tomorrow, but I am totally excited for our corporate dinner at Alize tonight, two hour training tomorrow afternoon (not sure on what, to be honest), buffet at the Wynn tomorrow night, Le Reve show.  Eeeps!  My first show in Vegas!  Most of all, I'm excited to stay at the beautiful Cosmopolitan... finally!  :D

I really can't focus on work at the moment and am killing time (as you can see).  We're flying out in about an hour and I have a feeling that I will forget something.  Don't you just HATE that feeling when you're going somewhere or doing something?  Ugh!

This will be an interesting trip... I'm sure.  Feel free to stalk if you'd like... just don't forget to say hello and have a pina colada with me!

Alrighty... let me make sure all of my liquids are either in my check in or the toilet.  Toodles!

Aloha!

I am still alive!  I promise!  (Sorry to break the news to some... hehe!  JK)

I can now say that I know what its like for feel jet lagged!  After a week in beautiful Hawaii with my Husband, I didn't want to come back home.  Seriously, he was considering requesting for a transfer out there and everything!  I must say though, that I would miss my friends, family, and life on the mainland way too much if that was to ever happen.  Its an island... you can't just hop in a car and drive away.  For now, I can dream.

Much to do now... including uploading pictures and sharing a bit of paradise with everyone.  Though this is my second time in Oahu, this was the better... may even be the best time EVER!  I fell even more in love with my Husband in a beautiful place... it felt like a dream or fantasy of some sort... but it was real.  SO REAL!

I have so much that I need to update and post about, but I keep putting it off.  There's too many great things that happened that I can't just not share.  There are memories that will live on in my head, but I need a place to jot it all down because I just know that there are many more memories to be created and I don't want to forget any of it.  This has been and will continue to be a place for me to put it all down and out there so that I can refer to it when need be.

Anyway... I hope everyone's been doing well.  Confession again... I haven't been up to date with the blogs, the emails, the facebooks, the tweets.  Shoot me.

Yay... play with me!

Wow... I am actually shocked to see that others have responded and voted on the poll I put there on the side of this blog. Thanks for voting and keep voting because you have another day to do it. I figured it would be fun since I'm so into the show... mainly for their clothes! HAHA... its true! So... what do you think? Hmmm...?

Maybe I should make this a more interactive blog? It seems like no one ever really responds to me (okay they do... occasionally), so I'm really just talking to myself. I don't mind talking to myself... I really don't. BUT... its just funny and fun to actually have someone talk back to you. So... talk back to me, please!

Inspired by the Cheesecake Factory, I whipped up some Cajun Jambalaya Pasta last night. My brothers in law, my nephew, and their friend came over before basketball and they killed it! I really liked it. Anthony (my nephew) said it was too spicy, but too bad for him because thats how I like it! :) Too lazy to post any food pictures on this thing. Find it on FB.

We bought our tickets to Seattle last night (finally). Looking forward to our family reunion and it just so happens to be Jenn's birthday. Its also Pearly's birthday, but wouldn't be able to make it there. It was nice catching up with her this morning. She's been going through a lot lately and sometimes, its just nice to hear from a friend showing that he/she cares. Once I found out what had happened a few weeks ago, I called her right away. I know the feeling of going through tough times and sometimes, it only takes a phone call/text message/fb message from a good friend to make you feel better. Its times like that when you realize who your true friends are when they show that they are there for you through those dark moments. Love the girl... miss her!

Still don't know what to do for Halloween... slowly being convinced to go to the party at The Reef. Maybe... but I'm sort of lazy. Its tomorrow and I don't even have a costume yet. Heck... I don't even know what I want to be! HELP!!

I wonder what everyone else is doing/going to be for Halloween. Care to share?

Fitting...!

Though I pulled an all nighter that evening, I still managed to miss my flight. This time, it really was not my fault but there's no point wasting time elaborating. I made it and thats all that matters, right?

My plane landed at 11:40am and my fitting appointment was at 12:30pm. Surprisingly, I made it... I was determined to and despite the distance, I still made it. I guess when you really want something and its meant to be, it will work out in the end.

On my way to the airport though, I was responding to the casting director and I had noticed an email address that was copied onto the email. It turns out that it was Jimmy's email address! How small could this world really be? Jimmy and I met at UW and we have performed together at two of the KhSA UW New Years' shows. What gets me is that they auditioned people throughout Southern California and at a few different locations. How the heck did they manage to put two people who know each other and have performed together a thousand miles away together to act together again? This world really is that small, huh?

It was nice to see the familiar face and I must say that it was a relief to know the person that I will be partnered up and acting with. Whew... this should be a breeze because the people you work with changes the experience completely!

We had our fitting and it took awhile to get into/out of the outfits, but it was done and it was so surreal to me. I've never been in a shoot setting before and was in awe seeing the many trailers and RVs that were jam packed with different wardrobes for the different actors. They had an onset hair stylist and makeup artist (duh), and that is what I'm really looking forward to! Basically, the entire block was blocked off and it looked like at least 100 people was part of the crew and was on set. I can't believe its really happening still!

Tomorrow is my first day of the shoot and I look forward to it. I'm nervous... but so ready to just do it already and so ready to learn. I must rest up for it and give it all I've got.. even if its for a millisecond of fame! :D

The guys came over for Monday night football last night and stay around and hung out with Sam later so I went to bed pretty late and woke up early (way too early). Tonight, I shall go to bed really early (hope I can sleep... maybe NyQuil can help?) because I think that the call time can be as early as 6am! Coffee... its a must tomorrow!

Swoons!!

I'm still swooning over my dress! LOL... okay so it might not be ALL that, but I love it anyway!

I almost gave up on looking for THE dress, but I'm glad I found it!

So... let me share my conversation with Mary this morning regarding the swine flu and our trip--

Mary: I heard that airlines are crediting people back if they booked to Mexico and they're not letting anyone enter Mexico.
Thyda: Hopefully it will be okay by then... if not, where else should we go?
Mary: CABO!
Thyda: Uhmmm... Cabo IS in Mexico!
Mary: Is it? OH...

LMAOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! She cracks me up! And what makes it even more funny is that she's the one who did all the booking and arrangements for this trip! HAHA!

Less than 4 weeks and I get to see my Baby again! YAYYYYY! Supposedly, the world sort of stopped when he left. HAHA! I mean... the guys don't even play poker anymore. THATS A BIG DEAL!!!

Leaving for California with my Parents in a week. Oh man... I don't know what happened to all my summer clothes!! Wish I was allowed to shop! Hmph! I miss the feeling of picking up something new and bringing it home like a puppy (except... I don't really like puppies unless they're really really cute. wait... shouldn't that be the same for my clothes? I confuse myself!)

Got that freakin' HALO song stuck in my head. Was singing it yesterday and my nephew asked me which Halo I'm singing about... as in which game edition of Halo. LOL!!

Oh man... I think I'm going to have to sneak away from my Parents (and Sams') for an hour to indulge in some Yogurtland. I've been craving! (There's this place in Southcenter called Tootie Frootie. The selection is less and its 39 cents an ounce rather than 30 cents like at Yogurtland! What a rip off!)

Star Struck...

After my Uncle's funeral last weekend, my Sister and I drove down to California VERY early the next morning. She had already missed a week of work and couldn't afford to miss any more. I helped drive a good 4 hours out of 19! LOL! I don't think she really trusted me with her car, but even she admit that she needed a break. :D

We got in early the next morning and pretty much spent most of the day recuperating in bed. The next morning, I had to be at the airport by 5 something am since my plane was leaving to come home at 7am. Yes, it was a VERY short "trip", if that, but I didn't want to leave my Parents at home by themselves for too long after all that they've been through.

While waiting for my flight, I noticed Somaly Mam there! Of course my bold ass went up to her to say hello! Surprisingly, she had heard about me! I'm guessing its through Ranny since she recently met her in Cambodia and I was the one who suggested her foundation to Ranns when she was trying to figure out which charity to work for. Chit chatted with her for a little while... then she gave me her card and told me to contact her! Ahhh... I know she probably gives the card out to everyone she meets, but I still felt special! :D She's so sweet and even more inspiring in person!

Barely slept on my plane ride because JetBlue is the worst airline I've ever flown with... and I've flown on quite a bit of different airlines. Got to SeaTac airport and I heard someone yell out my name. It was Nara, her Mom, her Sister, and her niece (the one who has a love/hate relationship with me). They were flying to LB for a week and were just about to hop on the plane I just got off of. Hopefully their flight was better than mine. I'm going to believe that it was just the morning turbulence caused by the morning clouds? Haha... okay whatever.

Parents picked me up and since we were already there... we had some Dim Sum in the morning. Yum! It was nice to sit down and actually talk to my parents for the first time in weeks. They'd been so busy with much on their minds. Damn... I love them.
